Impacting Communities

Warner Bros. and The Elephant Theatre Company

The Elephant Theatre Company in Hollywood CA, was recently “gifted’ with over 100 gently used theater chairs from a screening room located on the historical Warner Bros. Studios lot in Burbank, CA.

ANEW responded to a request from Warner Bros. Environmental Initiatives to help repurpose the chairs. Within 24 hours, ANEW found a suitable, non-profit community recipient in need of improving the theater experience for their public.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is the beneficiary of residential-style furniture and industrial materials donated through ANEW. This may include sofas, lounge seating, lamps, tables and construction materials, fixtures, lighting, and carpet tile.

Long Beach Historical Society

Knoll, a major manufacturer of commercial and classic design furniture, referred a corporate Santa Monica client. Their donation of furniture was matched to The Long Beach Historical Society to help with expanding office needs.

Chrysalis

ANEW has an arrangement with Chrysalis (http://www.changelives.org), a non-profit organization providing employment opportunities to disadvantaged and formerly homeless individuals. Overseen by ANEW, Chrysalis employees assist with the dismantling, staging, removal and recycling of surplus furniture. This partnership serves to help the economy and lower homelessness by supporting the Chrysalis transitional job program. Through ANEW, Chrysalis clients can work their way into fulltime jobs, supporting the Architectural and Design industry and our community.

Community Reach

Within our first year of operations, ANEW has improved communities in San Diego, Long Beach, Santa Monica, San Bernardino, Torrance, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, Los Angeles and Middletown, California, as well as Zambia, Africa.

"We recently received furniture
through the generous donation of ANEW and have transformed a once mix matched collection of seating, tables and other assets into more comfortable and functional facilities for our Tribal Meeting Center and children’s after school room, for all to be proud of."
