ANEW hosts the first WELL + good: a down to earth summit™

In September 2017 ANEW hosted the first WELL + good: a down to earth summit™.  Sponsored by Fletco Carpets USA, Knoll and Alpha Structural, Inc., the Summit was a consummate success. Guests from thought and practice leaders representing global corporate manufacturing (Rumi Walsh, Mazda); architecture + design (Bita Salamat, HGA & Brett Shrewy, AECOM); enginering/transportation (Ann Kovara); and higher education (Bonny Bentzin, UCLA) gathered in northern New Mexico to brainstorm today's and tomorrow's challenges.

The guests first began the adventure at Suitable Digs in Santa Fe NM, then ventured north and west to the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo, near Espanola, and Biotecture, outside Taos. The focus was on sustainable living and construction practices, healthy buildings and communities, renewable energy sources, clean water and water recycling. Guests from local ANEW partner organizations were also in attendance with the full support of the ANEW board of directors and senior advisors, including ANEW board chairman Anthony Minite and Mike Benigno of Knoll, the foremost ANEW sponsor: Tony McCarty of Kitchen Angels, David Hamlin of Submaterial and Ted Harrison of Commonweal Conservancy.
